Coyote’s can be found in just about all parts of the world, especially in the US, in Forest regions where land is Untouched by man. However, coyotes have been known to wander into cities in the neighborhood looking for scraps, which makes sense because they are scavengers. But how can you make sure that coyotes don’t get into your garbage?

The first thing that you can do is research. Coyotes usually travel impacts of about 4 to 10, so if you see one lingering by itself, it usually means that it’s sick. Or it could just be Scavenging for food scraps, because if there isn’t enough of their normal food around, they’ll eat just about anything, anything from garbage, to scraps, small animals, or even plants. So it’s very important that you make sure that your garbage cans are locked and are sealed to keep coyotes from getting in.

The next thing that you can do is look at the DEC website to determine what your next course of action is. Usually you can, with a permit get rid of coyotes if they are within a certain distance from your house. However the seasons for getting rid of them are only between December and March, however, each state is different. keeping these few things in mind will allow your family to continue to live happily and you not having to constantly clean up garbage from outside because of coyotes getting into them.
