Perhaps you have a dog already or are thinking to get one. How will you keep your dog safe on your property?
There are many options for fencing if you do not want to keep your dog on a leash at all times. There are physical fences and underground invisible fences.
Physical fences can be made of wood, metal (such as chain-link), or vinyl. Be sure that the fence is high enough so your dog cannot jump over it. Also, periodically look for holes that your dog may be digging under the fence to escape. And make sure that the fence locks properly.
Underground invisible fences are liked by many because of the aesthetic. Since there is no visible fencing, the property has a more appealing look. But there are many dangers with this fencing. Nothing prevents another animal or person from coming onto your property and stealing or harming your dog. Also, a dog can run past the fence line and endure the shock if they want to chase a human or animal bad enough. If there is an electrical outage or the battery goes bad in your dog’s collar, this can compromise the security of the fence.
