Like most people, you probably don’t keep track of every surface or object you touch each day. Some people have estimated that most of us touch an average of 140 objects a day, and that’s not including the most common things like light switches and doorknobs.

While you’re staying at home, that number may be even higher. If you leave your home for necessary activities, you may come in contact with the coronavirus that causes COVID-19 without ever breaking social distancing rules, since some estimates say that this virus can live on some surfaces for up to 24 hours.

After washing your hands when you get home, it may be a good idea to disinfect the areas you may have touched on your way inside. Car doors, trunks, doorknobs, countertops, and light switches are prime areas. It may also be a good idea to institute a regular schedule to disinfect these common touchpoints with a commercial disinfectant solution. Hopefully, these tips will keep you and your property virus-free!
